Having root-level access to a server means that you can view and update any file on it, including crucial system files. You may also install software that can modify specific settings on the server during the process, so the installation can be performed only if you're signed in as the root user. The latter has full privileges, which means that you will have full control over your machine at any time and you can do anything you want. You may also create other users either with the same rights or with fewer rights, based on what you want them for - day-to-day tasks, other server admins, etcetera. To be on the safe side, it's usually recommended to use the root account only when you really need it and not for tasks that you can do via other accounts. You may use a web-based graphical interface or a Secure Shell console to be able to connect with the server and to control it at the root level.

Full Root-level Access in Dedicated Servers

In case you pick the cPanel or the DirectAdmin hosting Control Panel, you'll have full root access to your new dedicated server, no matter which of our plans you will select throughout the signup process. The same is valid when you choose not to add a Control Panel at all. All of our servers will give you the option to run both really resource-demanding applications which are too heavy for a shared hosting account and apps which have particular requirements as to what the software environment on your server needs to be. The latter is something that cannot be achieved on a shared machine, because no server-side software can be installed on it. The difference between the abovementioned solutions is that without a Control Panel, server management can be done only from a console, while if you get cPanel or DirectAdmin, the majority of system settings along with your site content can be managed via a graphical interface. If you choose Hepsia, that is the last Control Panel option on the order page, you'll get a server with restricted root access.
