Spam Filters
Get familiar with e-mail spam filters, how they work and how you can activate them.
An email filter is a piece of software that is installed on an email server and ‘scans’ all incoming email messages in order to block any unwelcome ones from reaching a certain inbox. Several examples of such email messages would be: offers for pills or cash, fraudulent banking statements or attachments that contain malicious code sent with the intention of infecting your PC. Email filters normally ‘scan’ the content of an email and if they detect certain keywords or other suspicious content, they either erase the message or deliver it to the Spam/Junk folder instead of the Inbox folder. Some companies combine their own email filters with up-to-the-minute databases from spam-tracing organizations, so as to guarantee higher levels of safety for their customers. Such databases include patterns, email server IPs and other info about spam messages recently reported by these organizations.
Spam Filters in Cloud Hosting
The security of any mailbox that you set up in a cloud hosting account with us is guaranteed by the powerful SpamAssassin filter that we use. You can enable it via the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel and it offers five levels of safety based on the spam score given to each message in accordance with different criteria, such as the recurrence of particular words, the sender, and so on. If you keep receiving unsolicited bulk email messages, you can always raise the level or if you are scared that you may skip a genuine message, you can mix the automatic filter with a custom one and redirect all email messages from a specific sender to another mailbox. In case you reach the decision that you no longer require an email filter for a particular mailbox, you can deactivate it with only a couple of mouse clicks.
